The
CONNX for
VSAM-VSE
module provides secure, real-time, read/write access to VSAM data sources
on
VSE.
In conjunction with other modules, you can perform seamless
joins between VSAM-VSE and most other databases.
With
CONNX for VSAM-VSE,
a single metadata
model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources
and applications requiring data access. The result is an
enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable
standards-based framework for information access.
The
CONNX for VSAM-VSE
distributable SQL engine reduces the workload placed on the mainframe by
transferring CPU-intensive operations to the Web server or remote user’s desktop. The database calls are low level
and minimize impact on the database processor.
CONNX for VSAM on VSE/ESA
imports VSAM metadata directly from
COBOL FD copybooks into a CONNX Data Dictionary. Once, imported, the target VSAM file can
be treated as one or more logical tables or views.
CONNX supports real-time CICS TCIP/IP stack and
Barnard TCP/IP stack
to VSAM files stored on IBM VSE/ESA hosts.
