CONNX Solutions Partnership with Barnard Software Produces a Rock-Solid Solution for VSAM-VSE Users

CONNX Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of high performance simplified data access and integration software solutions, announces its partnership with Barnard Software, Inc., (BSI) a software development company that develops, supports, and markets software solutions worldwide for users of IBM's VSE operating system.

The goal of the partnership is to provide the VSE users community with best-in-class IT solutions. This is accomplished by CONNX Solutions adding support for Barnard Software’s TCP/IP stack to its flagship product CONNX. With the release of CONNX version 9.0, the CONNX for VSAM-VSE module provides support for the Barnard TCP/IP stack. The Barnard/CONNX Solutions partnership enables users of VSE/ESA and the Barnard TCP/IP stack to access enterprise data stored on any of the many databases CONNX supports, regardless of where that data resides. This will result in better and easier integration of the VSE data with the rest of the IT environment.

“This will be a great solution for the VSE community because this is an extremely low overhead, very high-performance solution,” said John Andrews, V.P. of Sales and Marketing at CONNX Solutions.

"Using TCP/IP-TOOLS and CONNX for VSAM-VSE will give the VSE customer a rock-solid solution,” said Teri Barnard, Director of Sales at BSI.

About CONNX Solutions
CONNX provides businesses secure read/write real-time access to all enterprise data from any platform as if all the data existed in one relational database. This technology has been referred to as a "federated database" or a "virtual database." All data is then accessible using standard ANSI SQL and any standards-based application. CONNX acts as a reusable data access framework for projects throughout the enterprise. CONNX supports Adabas (currently OS/390, z/OS, and Windows platforms); Microsoft SQL Server (on all platforms); Sybase (on all platforms); Informix (on all platforms); C-ISAM, DISAM, and Micro Focus (on Linux, AIX, Sun, Solaris, and SCO operating systems); IBM VSAM (on z/OS, OS/390, MVS, and VSE); IBM DB2 (on all platforms); Oracle (on all platforms); RMS, Rdb, and Codasyl DBMS (on OpenVMS and VMS platforms); PostGreSQL (on all platforms); Dataflex; POWERflex; and any OLE DB, ODBC, or JDBC data source.
