Universal Data Access with CONNX

Session Overview: To us, Universal Data Access (UDA) means robust read/write and join capabilities from heterogeneous databases through a single high performance product - CONNX. While UDA's meaning may change depending on perspectives or preference, the IT needs of a sophisticated, diverse, and complex enterprise do not; CONNX must be simple, fast, reliable, secure, and be able to effectively and efficiently communicate to the enterprise's data sources.

Organizations that are considering UDA strategies for data warehousing, e-business, or enterprise reporting solutions should be aware of the features and capabilities already built in to CONNX. This session will provide an overview of UDA principles and how those principles are realized through the use of a single, high performance product.

Who Should Attend?: CIOs and IT Managers who know why open systems strategies of the past have arguably failed and want to know why Universal Data Access will succeed with CONNX at the Core technology.

Power Users and Business Technologists who now manage the varying data access techniques, tools, and factors associated with each heterogeneous database file system within the enterprise.

Methodologies: Depending on your database file structures, this session can be conducted during or following the set-up and installation of CONNX at your site. Regardless of when Rotated Arrays are reviewed, you will have an understanding of what they are, how they are used, and when to use them. The consultant conducting the training can assist you in determining whether the use of Rotated Arrays is an option or a requirement for your desired use of CONNX.

Skills You Will Acquire by Completing this Session

Upon completion of this session, you will have learned, practiced, and assimilated the following topics:

  • The definition of true Universal Data Access (UDA).
  • What UDA means to the enterprise in terms of information management.
  • Why similar open-systems have failed in the past, and how the CONNX principles address those failures.
  • How the CONNX at the Core principles will contribute to enterprise data warehousing, Internet technologies, enterprise reporting, and practically every other corporate initiative that would benefit from successful UDA.
